We are required to retain your information for the purpose of the consultation; To inform diagnosis, treatment planning in order to provide you with the best possible care.
Your contact information will be used to contact you to confirm appointments, advice and/or to update you on matters relating to your medical care.
To provide you with information and/or services that you request from us, as your request for treatment constitutes in law an unwritten contract.
To update you on articles, publications, event information and marketing communications about Panilla Acupuncture, which we think may be of interest to you; where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes, which you may withdraw consent of at any time by any method.
To notify you about changes to our services.
To update our client records.

3. How long we store your personal data:
We will retain your personal data as long as we feel is necessary, or as otherwise prescribed by law, for the purposes set out above, and so this period will vary depending on your interactions with us.
We may also keep a record of correspondence with you (for example if you have made a complaint about our service) for as long as is necessary to protect us from a legal claim.
4. How we store your personal data:
The data that we collect from you including your clinical records may be transferred to and stored at a destination outside the European Economic Area (”EEA”). We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our website; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access. All emails received are stored on a password encrypted computer.
Should you choose to book your appointment through the online booking system, this website will not store your data but will be stored by Clinico, who is a third party processor.
5. Disclosure of your personal data:
Your privacy is important to us and therefore all personal data collected will be treated as confidential and will not be given to any other person/organisation without consent from the patient concerned.
Information held, both manually and electronically will be accessible only by staff of our practice directly involved in data entry and processing of patient records.
We may disclose your personal information if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal or regulatory requirement (police, local authority as legal obligation to protect you, safeguarding a child or vulnerable adult or in case of legal proceedings with my regulatory body, the British Acupuncture Council, insurance company or solicitor)

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will inform you (before collecting your data) if we would like to contact you for such purposes or if we have consent to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by checking certain boxes on the forms we use to collect your data. We use a number of third parties to process personal data on our behalf. These third parties have been carefully chosen and all of them comply with current data legislation. All third parties are based in the USA and are EU-U.S Privacy Shield compliant.

Any access requests may be subject to a fee (where permitted) to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

This privacy policy may change from time to time in line with legislation or industry developments. Any changes we make to our Privacy Policy in the future will be posted on this page.
